II.                President’s Comments

A.     Welcome – Brent Gault OAKE President

B.     Announcements

1.      Fall MKMEA Conference Oct. 5-7, 2007 Conference  St. Lois, Missouri

2.      Fall 2008 MKMEA conference hosted by KMEK in Wichita, Kansas

3.      Fall 2009 open to chapter to host

4.      Fall 2010 no MKMEA Conference – Mid West will host Nationals – open to chapter to host

5.      please cash OAKE reimbursement checks

6.      Thank Nyssa Brown and Aileen Brown for their advancements in membership of the organization.

7.      Nomination for Member-at-Large and Secretary

8.      Jean Sinor Scholarship - a scholarship given to a MKMEA member towards continuing education in the Kodaly Philosophy. If interested please contact Karla Cherwinski at kcherwin@canalwin.k12.oh.us

C.     News from OAKE

1.      MKMEA Board has approved to move all ballot distribution and voting responsibilities to OAKE. MKMEA will continue to prepare the slate of officers.

2.      OAKE is taking nomination for the board in the following areas Vice-President, Secretary, Member-at-Large, Regional Representatives for: Eastern 2, Mid-Western 1, Southern 2, and Western 1.
